Software development teams spend considerable resources to design a system. Ideally, the resulting design is used to build the system. However, during the implementation phase, deviations from the design often occur. This paper presents metrics to measure the degree to which the implementation matches the design, based on domain-related concepts and keywords found in the design specification and the source code. This information could be useful to development teams in pinpointing areas of deviation between source code and design specification.
