Mitigation of Low Frequency Power Oscillations Generated by a Hydroelectric Generation Station of CFE-Mexico

摘要

This paper presents a study to solve the problem of undamped low frequency power oscillations frequency on July 31, 2008, in which the 600 MW hydroelectric generation station "El Caracol" oscillates in respect to the national network. The event was recorded by phasor measurement units making possible the identification of an unstable electromechanical mode and the dominant modes of the oscillation.
