EFFECT OF ALBUMIN, CASEIN AND HAEMOGLOBIN ON SHORT-TERM PRESERVATION OF RAINBOW TROUT SPERM.

The short-term storage of fish sperm at temperatures above freezing has long been used as a method for refrigerated preservation of male gametes (McNiven et al., 1993). It is a very useful method to apply in field condition during fish reproduction season. It might reduce needs offish handling around most crucial and busy time in the hatcheries as well as can be applied when asynchrony of gametes production between male and female arises (Scott and Baynes, 1980). In the present study we tested the method of rainbow trout sperm storage in reduced aerobic condition with protein addition.
