The main source of fat in the feeding offish is fish oil, a product thatds high in essential fatty acids (EFA), especially of polyunsaturated acids from the n-3 series (PUFA n-3) (Sargent et al. 2002). However, ecological, economic, and health safetyconsiderations have prompted searching for alternative sources of energy such as, for example, vegetable oils. The aim of the experiment presented herein was to determine the influence of vegetable oil supplements to feed on the proximate composition ofthe fish, the histological structure of selected organs, and the hematological parameters of juvenile pikeperch (Sander luciopercd).
