Nucleotides have essential physiological and biochemical function's, including encoding and deciphering genetic information, mediating energy metabolism and cell signalling as well as serving as components of coenzymes allosteric effectors and cellular agonists. Research in fishes has shown that they may improve growth and survival in early stages of development, enhance larval quality, have multiple effects on me gastrointestinal tract, and modulate both innate and adaptive immune responses (Borda et al., 2003, Van Buren, et al., 1994).
