A decline in shrimp offspring quality during a larvae production cycle or reproductive exhaustion has been associated with either consecutive spawns, or with time spent in maturation tanks after eyestalk ablation (Racotta et al. 2003). However, offspring quality can be affected in different ways by the time a female spends in production and the number of spawns it produces. This study evaluated the separated effects of these two variables.
