摘要

There are four main reasons why visceral helminths in fish are of interest in culture. Helminths, especially roundworms, can result in a sanitary problem for humans (Sanmartin et al. 1994). Consumers reject fish containing visible worms and parasitized fish must be thrown away or depreciated. The fish growth or fecundity can be affected (Moller & Anders. 1986). Finally, visceral helminths prevalence can be used as biological tag and help to determine the stock or the origin of escaped fish. The aim of this study is to examine the prevalence of roundworms and platyhelminths in a new cultured species, the common Pandora (Pagellus erythrinus) from Mazarron Bay.
