Ultrasonic energy has been used to synthesize different homo- and copolymers by using thermal initiator, such as poly (Methyl-Methacrylate),poly (Acrylamide),poly (Styrene-co-Maleic Anhydride) and poly (Methyl-Methacrylate-co-Butylacrylate).Ultrasonic energy was also used to drive an emulsion polymerization to completion and to change the reactivity ratio6 of emulsion copolymerization of MMA-BA and to study its effect7 on particle size distribution of batch produced copolymers of MMA-BA.
