摘要

The lateral extrusion process has several advantages comparing to closed die forging in producing of parts like universal joints,tripods etc.It saves metal,provides better product quality due to higher deformation and can be used efficiently for producing of complex near net shape parts.Meanwhile this process still needs further investigation.The paper presents some experimental results compared with numerical simulation of material flow.Practical examples are presented.
