An optimised and customer-adapted filter technology will often allow substantial and sustained cuts to be made in the system's costs and in the operating costs of the power unit. When defining filtration fineness, we differentiate between filtration fineness absolute and nominal. The filtration fineness absolute defines the pass-through size of the mesh, whereas the filtration fineness nominal can be described as the operating filtration fineness (a retention rate of 90%). This means for the lubricating oil filtration that with a mesh of 34μm absolute spherical particles with a diameter of 34 μm can be retained.
