NEW EXCHANGER FOR AN AUTOMATIC WEIGHING SYSTEM OF SOLID DENSITY STANDARDS

A new exchanger has been designed at the KRISS to be used for automatic mass measurement of 1 kg silicon sphere as density standards. It consists of 2-axis stages, two step motors, a motor controller, and software to automatically operate and measure the mass with a mass comparator and instruments for measurement of air density. The mass comparator(Mettler-Toledo, AT1005) used is a single-pan balance with a readability of 0.01 mg and a capacity of 1 kg. To verify the performance of it, experiments that test it and measure the mass of 1 kg silicon sphere are performed.
