Lubricity improvers, extreme-pressure additives and friction modifiers are the most effective "tribological weapons" in the war against wear. In the last few years considerable efforts have been made to improve the "conventional drawing lubricants" in view of the increased requirements placed upon them, including higher drawing speeds, multiwire applications, and cleaner drawing areas.
