ENHANCEMENT OF SAFETY SYSTEMS IN A TYPICAL OIL GAS PLANT - AN INDIAN EXPERIENCE OF ONGC, URAN PLANT

Uran Plant is the first landfall point of Bombay Offshore field of Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC, India). It was commissioned in 1981 & a lifeline of so many local industries. Uran handles approximately 16 MMTPA of oil & 12 MCMD of natural gas along with 1400 CMD of condensate. This is around half of the domestic production of Oil & Oil Equivalent Gas of India. The crude oil is dispatched to the refineries after maintaining required Basin Sediment & Water (BS&W) through its Crude stabilization unit (CSU). Uran plant has also continuously strived to achieve higher goals in terms of Pre-processing of Crude oil, Offshore rich gas & producing Value Added Products (VAP) like Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), Naphtha, Ethane-Propane (C2C3).
