Data analysis with multiple detectors: plans and prospects for coordinated international analysis of interferometric detector data

Discovery of gravitational waves will require the use of multiple detectors. Exploitation of gravitational wave detection for physics and astronomy research will make even greater demands on the network of detectors. I review the reasons that multiple detectors are needed, then focus on the ways in which a network can be used. The discussion features recent experience from the bar community and from the first data gathering efforts of large interferometers. I also discuss plans for further integration of the interferometer network in the near future.
