The Discuss on the Shape of the Polycrystalline Diamond Compact Bit

The working condition in the application of the PDC bits is very complicated, and any construction changes would have great influence on the flow field under petroleum well. For the traditional bit, local velocity is so high to destroy the surface of the bits, or so slow to remove the mud block. In this paper some modifications have been made on the traditional bit. On the basis of these modifications, calculating model is built up, the fluid movement calculated, and the influence taken by the construction changes of the bits compared and analyzed. Through the above efforts, we can reach the conclusion that these changes are favorable to optimize the flow field of the petroleum well and could give a reference to the improvement of the shape of the petroleum drill.
