In yarn package dyeing and fabric beam dyeing, dye is applied by pumping the dye liquor through the textile, and the goal is to apply the dye uniformly throughout the packages and beam. Level dyeing can be difficult to obtain in package dyeing and beam dyeing because the yarn and fabric remain stationary during liquor flow, and the dye liquor must be sufficiently circulated through each section of the package or beam. The flow uniformity is therefore an important factor that contributes to the even application of the dye and the uniformity of the shade.
