PERFORMANCE TESTING AND FUTURE REQUIREMENTS FOR HOME FURNISHINGS

As retailers purchase textile products from manufacturers in more and more locations world wide,we have increasingly found the need to do additional testing for properties that were once assumed inherent in those products.Even products manufactured domestically have changed in some ways due to the constant pressure from retailers to achieve lower prices.Retailers are finding that they must expand the number of tests performed on home fashion products to be able to assess their acceptability to the US consumer.I have interviewed my counterparts at several retailers and independent labs to add their thoughts to mine on current and future testing needs,particularly for home furnishings.
