CAN MODERN I.T. INFRASTRUCTURES BE INTEGRATED WITH SCADA SYSTEMS TO REALIZE UTILITY BUSINESS OBJECTIVES?

Modern IT infrastructures are complementary with current SCADA technologies in many facets. However, constraints such as cost, security and interfacing with other systems can make integration between these two worlds difficult at times. This paper examines the types of infrastructures required in order for Utilities to meet their ever-changing business demands and avoid some of the pitfalls of past combined (SCADA/IT) projects.
