GreeGreen Diesel Production by Hydrotreatment of Microalgae Oil using Pt Catalyst

摘要

Hydrotreatment of algal-derived oil is considered a promising route to renewable liquid fuel production. The product comprises mostly straight chain alkanes, and is chemically similar to petroleum-derived diesel. With the advantage of fast growth rate and high acylglycerides content, microalgae is favored as a feedstock for green diesel production. Moreover, this process is CO2-reducing and does not compete with food production for feedstock.
