A non-intrusive quadrature-based UQ approach with reconstruction of the PDF of the system response is presented. The approach is demonstrated by considering a riser flow in a circulating fluidized bed with uncertain particle size as an example application. Contour plots of mean and standard deviation of system response including time-averaged solid volume fraction, solid phase velocities, and granular temperature are provided. The mean values and confidence intervals of the outputs at specific height of the riser are compared to the experimental data, and satisfactory agreement is obtained. The univariate and bivariate PDF reconstruction are performed for the quantities of interest at specific locations using EQMOM and ECQMOM.
