The presentation highlights the key drivers of a company's transformation from a job shop to a nationally recognized leader in metal fabrication. World-class manufacturers understand that a highly skilled and motivated workforce is their greatest asset. Treating workers with respect, seeking their input, rewarding their contributions, and providing continual training and opportunities for advancement will propel companies to new heights of innovation and business growth. Also discussed are how to choose the right people, provide them the right training, and manage for superior performance. Manufacturers must also take responsibility to help support the future workforce regionally and nationally through such activities as coordinating field trips, mentoring and speaking in classrooms, participating in career fairs, and providing curriculum input.
