Determination of risk factors of accident causation

摘要

In Germany, the GIDAS-Project (German In Depth Accident Study) provides detailed accident data. To date, this data has been mainly used for passive safety research. Now that car manufacturers continue to sell an increasing number of systems for active safety, the focus of accident research turns towards risk factors of accident causation as well. This paper describes an approach to determine risk-factors of accident causation from accident data. Promising results are revealed for the influence of drunk driving, age and gender.
