The aim of this study is to build a model able to predict postural parameters of the spine and pelvis using a simple method of external anatomical point palpation. A geometrical reference model of the thoraco-lumbar spine and pelvis in a standing position has been developed from several morphometric studies. This model will be adapted to a subject measuring external anatomical points. In order to validate the original model an experimental analysis was developed. Using radiographs and ultrasonic material of palpation, fourteen healthy subjects were measured in a standing position. Postural parameters have been determined with both methods in order to validate the external anatomical point palpation method with the analysis of the radiographs. Finally, the results of the model were analysed to generate categories of postural behaviour in relation to morphology.
