Evaluation of an Augmented Reality User Interface for a Binocular Video See Through Head Mounted Display

Nowadays Augmented Reality (AR) is one of the most promising technologies for the human-machine-interaction. Augmented reality merges virtual reality with the real environment and it is already used in industrial applications (e. g. for product or process information). In a production environment the evaluation of a prototype by usability testing was conducted to investigate the AR user interface concept. By involving potential users important suggestions to improve the system for industrial use were established and can be used for the future development of the system.
