This paper carries out comparative study of wind tunnel test and theoretical analysis on wind-induced responses and wind load factors for flexible roof structures with medium deformation. Flexible roof structures with me'dium deformation refer to a kind of roofs that the wind-structure-coupling effects can be neglected. Fluctuating wind pressure records from rigid model wind tunnel tests are taken as wind loads acting on roof structure, then wind-induced responses and wind load factors are analyzed in the time domain. For comparison, the spectral analysis based on quasi-steady theory is also used to predict wind responses of the same roof structure. It is found that the results predicted by the time domain method well agree with those obtained by the perfect aeroelastic model wind tunnel tests. On the other hand, the results predicted by spectral analysis based on quasi-steady theory are the same with test results only in tendency, but far more than test results in value. Hence, a modified coefficient is introduced when the spectral analysis method based on quasi-steady theory is used to estimate the wind effects on flexible roof structures with medium deformation.
