PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make findable a solution of high precision in a short time simply through a small storage space, by finding representative point arrangement wherein total energy becomes minimum by repeating relative moving operation for translating and rotating only all representative points inside the border of the sum of local energy for relaxation until the sum of the local energy is almost minimized. ;SOLUTION: The representative points arranged on the structure are bound with closed borders of various size. Relaxation is carried out until the sum of the local energy defined as a function from representative points inside and outside the borders is nearly minimized. For the purpose, the relative moving operation for translating and rotating only all the representative points inside the borders is repeated to find the representative point arrangement wherein the total energy becomes minimum. Consequently, the frequency of repetition of a minimum routine (procedure) needed for the calculation is reducible and a finite element method requires a memory space which is proportional to the square of the number of lattice points, but only a memory space of the order of the number of lattice points is needed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
