摘要

The fast POLARIS diagnostic provides a measure of the equilibrium and fluctuating magnetic field with ≈ 1μs time response. This permits observation of both fast changes to the equilibrium field and turbulent magnetic fluctuations. The system noise level of 10 G would allow measurement of 5x10~(-4) magnetic fluctuation levels in a tokamak with B = 2 T. Efforts to further increase the system sensitivity are ongoing along with techniques to extract the fluctuating field information from all 11 chords.
