Simulating situations under which an abrupt change of SPL (Sound Pressure Level) occurred during a change from a TV program to a commercial telecast, how autonomic nervous system is affected by such an event or experience was analyzed and evaluated using the autonomic balance that can be investigated using a wavelet analysis of R-R intervals. The R-R intervals and its FFT analysis were not effective for evaluating effects of an abrupt change of SPL on the biological system. It was clarified that such an adaptation process induced by an abrupt change of SPL during watching a TV can be evaluated effectively using a wavelet analysis of R-R intervals. The establishment of a method to evaluate the effects of abrupt changes of SPL during TV watching on human's biological system is important to propose a standard and less influential SPL in TV broadcasting especially during a commercial telecast.
