Recently, dehumidification becomes very important in the air conditioning for amenity and health. An open cycle absorption type dehumidifier using LiCl-solution can be driven by low grade waste heat, and adjust the temperature and humidty at the same time. This dehumidifer is effective for energy savings and easiness of temperature and humidty adjustment. However, detailed evaluation of characteristics of the system has not been investigated. In this paper, as 1st report, we focus on packed bed of dehumidifier side and regeneration side. There are two different phenomena, heat and mass transfer, on the surface of packed bed. Then, we constructed simulation model adapted two-film theory and analyze details of characteristics of packed bed. As the result, when air inlet conditions are ambient air of summer in Tokyo, the amount of dehumidification was 9.3·10{sup}(-3)[kg/kg(DA)].
