The building MULTI system (3WAY system) is an Air conditioning system that is capable of simultaneous heating and cooling operation within the same refrigerant system. To this point, it has primarily been adopted to handle the cooling load of office buildings in the wintertime or intermediate seasons. However since sales of the 3WAY system began in Europe, there has been increasing demand from hotels located in northern regions. The number of units shipped yearly has increased by approximately 40%, and further growth is predicted for the future. A review of the component devices allows the newly developed 3WAY system to offer higher operating efficiency. In addition, the introduction of high-precision pressure control technology enables existing tubing to be used in the new system, and a review of the cost distribution function has raised the level of added value.
