Dense Wavelength-Division multiplexing is a promising way to increase the communication capacity of the existed optical networks and at the same time with relative low cost. Arrayed Waveguide Grating (AWG) which capable of precise demultiplexing of a large number of channels with relative low losses have become increasingly Popular as the wavelength Multiplexers Demultiplexers for the DWDM system. In this paper, we show the basic function principle of an A WG module, then the details about the design and fabrication process of it are described. At last, some practical problems are discussed.
