To sum up, The higher 2-octanone conversion (67%) and the higher dimeric ketones selectivity (71%) were obtained over aluminium oxide (content 9 wt. %) catalysts at 415 K for 6h. The effect of temperature and reaction time was also studied, 2-octanone conversion and yield increases with increasing the temperature and reaction time. In contrast, dimeric ketones selectivity decreased due to the formation of superior condensation products, condensation time extension. Moreover, dimeric ketones selectivity decreased with increasing temperature from 395K to 399K, and then approached a plateau. The results show that, the higher activity may be due to better balance between temperature and reaction time.
