CNT supported iron catalysts, an unsupported Fe/Cu/K/SiO2 FT catalysts was prepared by the Cosmos method. Using this method, a uniform crystallite size distribution between 2 to 4 nm can be obtained. This new catalyst preparation method was compared with published studies [10, 11, 12] and shows promising selectivity and activity. This method is much faster and requires fewer preparation steps compared to the other methods. An active catalyst with low selectivity to methane was obtained by using CNT as support. The washing step effects on the rates and distribution of the products. Higher water gas shift activity and lower methane selectivity was resulted on washed CNT/Fe/K/Cu.
