Nuclear power plant designers use rules and codes derived from ASME, RCC-M, RCC-MR, Monju, etc. Likewise, ITER designers employ the ITER Interim Structural Design Criteria (IISDC) and the ITER Materials Properties Handbook (IMPH) for design of ITER components and systems. For this purpose, materials properties data are collected, sorted, harmonized and validated to constitute a reference data base. From such data bases then recommendations and specifications are derived and presented in an Appendix A type documents. While most of the ITER rules are also DEMO relevant, they do not include rules and data for Reduced Activation Ferritic/Martensitic Steels (RAFM steels), i.e. the principal structural material envisaged for the ITER Test Modules (ITM's) and a DEMO reactor. The main objective of the European data base task is to, therefore, to extend the ITER work and propose a DEMO Interim Structural Design Criteria (DISDC). The work performed started with collection and analysis of data on modified 9Cr-1Mo steel. It was then extended to the low activation grade, F82H steel, where data from international and European sources are collected. In the next two years, the data base on F82H will be updated and data collection on Eurofer steel will begin. This presentation focuses on the F82H steel data base and shows how each material property data can be fully traced back to the fabrication history, thermo-mechanical treatments, irradiation and testing procedures and validation steps.
