Improving accessibility in the workplace - manual data entry in video coding

摘要

There are tangible, reasons for improving accessibility to work for people with disabilities. The costs of retiring people early on medical grounds are high and demographic studies show that the population is ageing and increased age is inextricably linked with impaired physical limitation. Tasks associated with video coding were studied to identify the best approach for enhancing accessibility for people with motion impairments. User performance modelling indicates that response times are considerably higher than those for able-bodied people. It is shown that the specification of the proposed replacement data entry system has addressed the primary accessibility constraints.
