All-weather ground sensor system with possible law enforcement applications

摘要

The Internetted Unattended Ground Sensor (IUGS) system being developed for DARPA is a distributed ground sensor system intended for autonomous surveillance activities, consisting of a multitude of sensor types. giving it all-weather detection, tracking, and classification capabilities. In addition to its military applications, it would seem to have potential law enforcement uses as well, such as border surveillance and facility monitoring. This paper provides a description of this system so that law enforcement agencies can determine whether it might help solve certain surveillance problems.
