Parametric curve approximation technique is frequently used in many fields of computer science. The most difficult problem in parametric curve approximation is parametrization. In this paper an Iterative Closest Point (ICP) reparametrization strategy is presented to improve the precision of approximation. Moreover, this paper proves the local convergence of the algorithm, which makes it more theoretically reasonable and robust. Some results comparing with traditional approaches are given to illustrate the validity of our approach.
