Polyurethane(PUR)Moulders,system developers,process engineers,and parts designers are all required to make strategic decision sometimes on a daily basis to optimise profits for their going-concerns.The more strategic the decision required the more complex the issues may be to analyse to derive an optimum outcome.PUR is the most versatile of all plastics with a degree of understanding made more complex by the wide variety of uses for the material available using different combinations of polyols,isocyanates,reinforcement materials,and processing additives etc.Indeed,there is no doubt many more uses for the material yet to be discovered.The wide range of decisions made or to be made involving PUR is vast and covers from one extreme how to develop better materials by considering new formulations derived from chemical compositions to the other such as optimising production routes for niche-market products-the list is endless.
