Many applications of ion-conducting polymers, such as lithium ion battery membranes and ionic actuators, require both high ionic conductivity and mechanical strength simultaneously. Polyethylene glycol (PEG) based ion conductors have drawn attention because the ether-oxygen solvates cations, boosting ion transport. However, while ionic conductivity benefits from low Tg and fast chain relaxation, mechanical strength can be sacrificed for the same reason.
