摘要

Polymeric materials filled with nano sized organo clay particles offer a variety of improved or new properties. These properties strongly depend on the layer distance of the clay material [1] . In this work a recently developed hyper branched Polyalkoxysiloxane (PAOS), was used as a dispersing agent to separate the single layers of alkyl ammonium exchanged bentonite (Fig. 1). PAOS is a polymeric liquid silica precursor and high temperature boiling solvent. Because of its hydrophobicity and the absence of reactive groups it is very stable. Furthermore, PAOS can easily be modified to achieve a better compatibility with organically modified layered silicates.
