摘要

Dynamic rheology measurements using a parallel plate rheometer,and X-ray diffraction examination were used to study the effect on a series of epoxy resins of addition of between 0 and 10 percent of an organically modified layered silicate organoclay.Results were compared to the effects of addition of calcium carbonate to the same resins,and viscosity changes and flow activation energies at low frequency were found to be similar.This similarity was due to micron scale dispersion of the silicate,rather than on the nanoscale where differences may have been expected.
