We have synthesized a number of polymers aimed at the control of various microorganisms and diseases including those responsible for various bacterial and viral infections and cancer.1-26 Some of this effort involved the incorporation of biologically active drugs into polymers containing metal-containing moieties that themselves are known to be biologically active. It is hoped that this combination would have a synergetic effect enhancing the possibility that such combination drug containing polymers might offer positive activities that are not realized through employing only one of these drugs. Much of this effort has involved the combination of these drugs into polymers that contain the organotin moiety.
