摘要

Chromatographic monoliths are rather new chromatographic stationary phases. They consist of a single piece of a highly porous material. The pores are interconnected forming a network of channels. Monoliths can be prepared of different chemistries having a wide range of porosity and pore size distribution. Structure of the monoliths depends on the composition of monomer mixture as well as preparation conditions. Structure is of utmost importance since it determines properties of the monolith such as mechanical and chemical stability and pressure drop on the monolith under flow conditions.
