The aqueous polymer latex synthesized by emulsion polymerization has been widely used in many fields, due to its particular properties such as non-flammable, nontoxic, free of odor and inexpensive. Nevertheless, the use of water also brings the disadvantages of slow drying rate, as well as high energy requirement in the processes of coat drying, storing and transporting. To enhance the solid content of the emulsion polymerization is one of the means to solve the above problems. But the viscosity of the reaction system will sharply increase with the raise of solid content, which in turn leads to the failure of emulsion stabilization. Up to now, a lot of research has been concerned with the technology of emulsion polymerization with high solid content.
