Along with the applications of non-conjugated poly(N-vinylcarbazole) (PVK) as a hole-transporting layer and a polymeric host for phosphorescent guests in the fabrications of polymer light-emitting diodes (PLED), conjugated 3,6-carbazole and 2,7-carbazole homo- and copolymers have been synthesized. Some of them could be applicable as an emissive layer in PLEDs. To the best of our knowledge, a single layer PLED and a field effect transistor (FET), based on the above polymers, were not reported before.
