Designing semi-crystalline polyolefin copolymers in a rational way requires a thorough understanding of structure-processing-property relationships and crystallization behavior,which not only has to consider the influence exerted by the chemical nature of functional groups introduced into the polymer (ionomers vs.alpha-olefin copolymers,for example),but also the location and regularity in the distribution of these groups along the polymer backbone.
