High active terphenyl-based Pd~(II)-and Ni~(II)-catalysts for the polymerization of 1-olefins

In the 1990',mainly Brookhart and coworkers reported the olymerization of ethene to high molecular weight polymers with highly active palladium and nickel diimine complexes.The steric demand of the bulky isopropyl substituents on the aniline moieties and their orientation obviously block associative olefin exchange and thus retard effectively chain transfer by beta-hydride elimination.
