Electrostatic superlattices formed through layer-by-layer self-assembly of oppositely charged organic polymers have been of great interest since the concept was presented by Decher in 1991.The technique involves the sequential adsorption of polyion monolayers from aqueous solutions to form nanostructured multilayer polymer films of controlled thickness.
