A blend of a poly(alkoxyphenylene-thiophene) derivative, poly(2,5- dioctyloxy-1,4-phenylene-alt-2,5-thienylene) (POPT) – see Figure 1 up – and single wall carbon nanotubes (SWCNT) has been obtained in dichloroethylene. The resulting dispersion has been transferred onto indium tin oxide (ITO) solid substrates by means of the Langmuir- Blodgett (LB) technique[1] in a highly reproducible way with a preferential alignment of the SWCNT perpendicular to the dipping direction. These ITO/(POPT/SWCNT)n films were utilized as photocathodes for the construction of photoelectrochemical cells[2] and the respective cells were characterized in terms of their photocurrent performance.
