A few molecules are able to self-assemble into nanotubes in solution1. These molecules are most often lipid derivatives, bolaphiles and self-assemble in water. These objects have attracted much interest not only because of their unique shape but also because the self-assembling process confers them additional interesting properties such as high purity levels and high process ability. However, functional materials based on these objects are still rare while there is a need for developing polymeric mesoporous material: these materials combine mesoporosity, that is necessary in applications such as catalysis, adsorption or membrane filtration and the advantages of the polymer matrix: high processability, mechanical resilience or chemical resistance.
